Leon jumped my butt on facebook the other day for not getting on here enough so I figured I'd post a question I had. (Sorry Leon the woman has been keeping my butt too busy! Had to buy her a new stove, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave yesterday. :/)
I'm fairly certain this has already been covered, but I went into work a couple of weeks ago and seen my packages of grinds with finger sized holes in them all the way down the middle and through the plastic. Why does this happen? I thought well maybe they are checking the color on the inside, but the grinds were as red inside as out. It was also done to several of them. Or do some people get sick pleasure shoving their fingers into a cold piece of meat? I mean come on everybody knows warm apple pie is so much better! So basically my question is has anyone caught a person in the act of doing this and gotten a credible answer?
This used to happen a lot at my old store. We never caught the person(s). I'd think that nowadays, you could go to the office and check the video. Maybe you'll recognize the customer. Then you can wait for him/her next time.
oh my god i was just about to post on the same subject this happened yesterday. i was waiting for this grandma and her little grandson to move so i could put some meat in the case i am standing behind them then all of sudden the brat starts poking holes in all my packages and his grandma is standing right there watching him. i was getting pissed because i was really busy yesterday so finally i sarcastically said "hey thank you" and his grandma turns around and glares at me "he's just a kid" and i am thinking "yeah but whats your excuse?" so if you see holes in your packages i ll bet it was some little brat and his pampering parents
by the way i was going to ask leon if he heard from you i been wondering how things are going in that meat dept you are trying to get moving.

I have watched little kids do this for years I have always asked them if they are picking out the ones they want mommy to buy I have only had one parent get mad at me about it, usually they are more mad at little timmy at the time I did also (only once) have a parent grab all the packages and offer to pay for them

Yep, like everyone else says I think its the kids, not mom or dad, but it may as well be if they cant control the kids! That is the one benefit of a service counter, they cant get at the product. I did watch a kid one day pick up a package of snack sticks and try and eat right through the plastic packaging to get at the snack sticks. Fortunalty the kids mom saw it too and did buy the package.

use to have some one, a kid I think because it look like a small mouth, that came in every Sat, would take one bit out of a pack of Ball Park franks, nothing else but ball Park lol
every time i see a little kid get too close to my case i cringe i just know they are going to do that they can't resist. i want to put a sign up that says little kids must remain 6 feet from the meat case at all times.
You will love this one. One day a very young kid, 4-6 yrs old I am guessing was running up and down in front of the meat counter with his tongue out and on the glass!!! Huge long lick marks 24 feet long making my glass look like well....... and what does mom say? Get your tongue off that glass, its dirty! Hey lady, how about get your tongue off that glass, you are making a mess that someone will have to clean up that should not have to.

when i see a kid pokeing the meat i usually ask the parent to get there kid to stop poking the meat...i play it like i dont want them to stick there fingers in there mouth and get them sick....in my mind im think piss off you little ****er..lol
