Anyone here never been written up?

I think it's about 5 times for me. Average once every 6-7 years I guess.

One guy at my store (not meat) got his first write up in his 25th year there.

His objection to the write up was that he "hadn't been witten up in 25 years, so why should they do it now?" LOL @ him.

Anyone here never been written up?

i worked for one store that i left about 7 years ago i was with them for 3 years and they loved to write people up for every stupid thing. i probably got about 5 or 6 from them and some of them i swear i had nothing to do with. they just needed someone to blame. I honestly had no idea about some of the things they wrote me up for. then there were a couple things I did feel responsible for like i missed a pack of bad chicken when i pulled the case in the morning. it was always something like that. I never been written up with any other company. I have worked for 5 different markets now and that was the only one i ever been written up in. i remember we got written up so much in that store us guys in the meat dept would always be joking about it like if one of guys goes off to take a leak and he is gone a little too long when he comes back i would be like " thats it i am writing you up you shouldn't have been gone more than 2 minutes."  the facist owners there went through those write up forms like toilet paper it was hard to take them seriously. I  remember how so illiterate they were . I would read them and almost burst out laughing "uh you spelled chicken wrong its not c h i k i n"

Sure have... Some in the company seem to think we can't do something right without doing something wrong and then wanting a paper trail too back it up. However not all things require a paper trail to cover ones azz to make a point. Just take it like a man, instructions and repremand just go hand in hand.

That ain't fair. I'm gonna call your boss and tell him he's a $hithead. Give me his phone number.

I don't understand a write up AND you had to buy it. If you buy it, then what's the problem? I hope you got it at cost. If not, I hope you get them back in some secret way.

I bet whatever you did was fixable in many different ways.

1: You probably could have gotten a/some roast(s) out of it somehow.

2: or sirloin tip steaks

3: It could have been merchandized into stir fry

4: or kabobs.

5: They could have ground it for super lean and made more money.

this punk store mgr one time was going to right me up! I told him go ahead, I'd love that! he didn't dare! I told him if he did, I'd first chop the pen and paper up, and then chop off his fingers , one at a time!

RE: Anyone here never been written up?

I almost got written up about a month ago. This lady came in at closing time on the last day of a sale on chuck roasts, walked up to me with 3 in her hand and said, "You're gonna hate me...I want these ground up!" not "Sir, I'm sorry but I was wondering if..." or "I know it's late but..."

So I told her that we were closing and that at this hour we can't use the grinder because It would have to be clea. . . . . "Fine! I'll just go to the other Kroger!" Next day, I got a verbal reprimand. I was informed that in that situation I was to say, "I'll have to check with my manager to get permission to stay over so I can disinfect the grinder again." jeez!

I hate that ask the manager crap ..of course the manager is going to be happy to give you "permission" to stay late its not like HE has give up his personal time and break down the grinder and clean it again. but you know what thats what i love about my store i got a cleaning crew here i can cut up to the last minute and leave the mess for them. on another note i hate telling customers no. i just feel so guilty about it. . more likely than not i would have done it anyway even if i didn't have a clean up crew.  at giant we did put together a little plan if that ever happens we were supposed to just go ahead and grind it and then just wipe out the inside of the grinder and wrap the nozzle with a plastic bag.  i don't know how effect that was but thats what we did

fdarn,"I hate telling customers no"

I do too. I know that they are just trying to feed their families and they get their hopes up for a good deal. I always try to remember what it is like being a customer and put myself in their shoes. (They have no clue as to what it is like on the other side of the counter and they shouldn't have to)

Oh, but this lady!. . . Her approach was like, "I know I am inconveniencing you and I don't care, and I'm all set to get mad if you don't do this."
