Meat Department Manager

Agata & Valentina, one of New York City’s premier Italian specialty food stores seeks a professional, experienced and knowledgeable Meat Manager for our high volume operation and expansion. Successful candidates will be results-driven, self-starters with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for food.  We are looking for someone who can provide strong leadership and set a clear vision and goals for the Meat department. Ideal candidates have great customer service skills and a solid knowledge of the retail food business.
Essential Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a food retail environment
• Exceptional Meat knowledge with good understanding of food preparation
• Through knowledge and excellent ability to do various cuts for different species
• Ability and comfortable operating various Meat equipment
• Hands on leadership style, ability to multi-task and strong analytical skills
• Business acumen and know-how of Inventory Management
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
•  Management Execution: delegates responsibilities, conveys clear expectations and holds people accountable
• Focus on Service: identifies and anticipates customer requirements, expectations and needs

Essential Job Duties:

• Responsible for analyzing department sales 
• Achieve department sales goals by ensuring exceptional quality and merchandising of products and department cleanliness at all times
• Managing and motivating employees to increase sales and ensure productivity
• Responsible for departmental inventory management
• Responsible for the administration of all policies and procedures
• Oversee and control department’s schedule and make sure budgets are maintained
• Oversee the supervision, training and development of department associates
• Teach and reinforce behaviors that result in associates delivering excellent customer service
