For all the managers here. I hope you have a Happy Boss Day today. I see on my calendar that that's what today is. National Boss Day (USA).

is this the day we are all supposed to be extra nice to our bosses? is there any chance there is a day when bosses are supposed to be extra nice to us?

Do you mean extra nice like providing employment, benefits and a platform to daily exhibit the expertise in your trade?

As far as being extra nice to the manager, don't complain for a day. That would be nice.

I consider my manager to be the boss. He's not the one who provides the things you're mentioning. You're thinking of the owner. But where would the owner be without us? Most store owners would love to pay their little meat dept managers as little as possible. Especially if they work for a large chain.  They really don't care about us manager or not.

To me the reason for this is the beef packer, they want us out of the way, us out of the way, they sell pre pac and make big money by using mexican labor at 7.50 to 8.50 a hour.  chains are either to  dumb to understand customers want good meat not pre pac or they have bought into the packers story of low cost on pre pac

you're right masteryeti thanks for the lecture sometimes I forget i am just a lowly meatcutter subject to disrespect and dirty looks when ever the boss sees fit regardless of whether or not the boss has a good reason I am just thankful that the boss lets me work there. Dignity and respect mean nothing to me as long as there is a paycheck.

Sorry fdarn, had a rough day. Half of my self serve case went down in the night and I lost a bunch of product. Didn't mean come off like that. You're boss must totally suck! If he was my boss I'd glue his coffee cup to the breakroom table.

LOL, glue his coffee cup to the breakroom table. He would probably be there all day sipping from a straw!  LOL

I dont know the man, but I can imagine some guys actually doing that. Maybe I have watched too many episodes of the Office?

lol no problem masteryeti. actually i would glue the cup to the desk but the ass is already glued to the chair so i figure boss will just use a straw.

i had a pretty rough couple weeks but its starting to get better again.
