"Meat cutters have a reputation for not being the most personable, outgoing types of individuals," says Frank Thurlow, Winn-Dixie's director of meat and seafood merchandising and a former meat cutter. "I mean, we sit in the back room all day and cut up animals."
huh no.....his must of been part of a real stuck up operation. from my experience meat cutters are witty and goofy..always joking and trying to keep the mood light. and we NEVER SIT there are no chairs in the cutting room

Sounds like Frank and the crew he worked with as a cutter were not trained in customer service properly. The customer comes first. NO EXCEPTIONS! Greet the customer, smile at the customer, try to get to know your customers by name, exceed the customers expectations, thank the customer, they will come back.
considering the state of winn dixie, maybe he is referring to himself more than he realizes, plus we get paid a good wage to work and make the customer happy. it is usually all business all the time. leave the social butterflies to the other departments. if we dont work we dont make money.
I have a 36 foot Full Service case, And I mean Full Service we pertty much do what ever the customer wants. I dont think he would last long in this day and age of meat cutting.
