Below is some thing I read today, Myself I don't think this is true when it comes to the meat dept. there is more stores going back to the center over the counter cases or specialty casesso they can have their meat man communicate with customers
Consumers are moving away from traditional, face-to-face customer service to self-service because of convenience. Time-pressed consumers want to process their transactions the way they want and when they want, and self-service enables them to do so.
This ,sir is the problem we have over here in the UK , people tend to buy all under one roof in one go so save time as most parents are to busy with work and alike . The supermarkets are killing the high street and they don't give a damn. I have vented my thoughts on another forum and there was a lot of heated responces so I won't go there.
Why, exactly, should the supermarkets care? They are in business, just like high street is in business. That is the essence of free enterprise, I'm sure you don't want the alternative.
