As Food Prices Rise, How Will Retailers Respond?

A good read, I think the last part of this carries a lot of weight.

RE: As Food Prices Rise, How Will Retailers Respond?

Pricing is REALLY tough right now. Particularly with the ongoing economic crisis here and abroad. We'll either see a downsize in product availability or an overall increase in product. I imagine there will be a combination of the two. Some markets will decrease their product line, buy in bulk and offer cheap prices on those bulk buys, some markets will still offer a wider product variety and try to harness that. I don't like what I hear in the commodity markets at all right now.
