one store we were selling sukarne beef seperate from the rest of the beef but for some reason inspector said we didn't have to put a label on it.. i was surprised..one trick i learned to avoid buying countless stickers for country of origin is to just print out a few signs and post them on the cases listing where all your fish comes from and anything else the inspector says has to have a country of origin label. ..when the inspector saw that he said it was good no reason for stickers on everything if i had the signs..but i don't know if all inspectors will go that way.

Never. Just checks from in-house people. Course we live in the boondocks here!

He came about a year ago. I was at lunch when they called me to let me know he was there. He was gone by the time I got back. He found a couple of wrong signs in produce. Everyone said he was very nice. He also told them our competition was a disaster.

I have seen them way too many times already. They spend a ton of time in Produce and Seafood
Remember the First time they are not to issue tickets just advise you as to what to do
The next time they can issue tickets if they want
The Current fine is up to $10,000.00 per offense
There is no clear definition of what an offense is which means an inspector can count all wrong tags as one offense or every wrong tag as a separate offense
I do know from my National Fisheries Institute Membership that over $10 million in fines have been levied this year so far
