Job Description Buy For Less is seeking for energetic and self-motivated individuals to fill positions in our Meat department. Individual will be responsible for daily Meat Department Duties. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: - Cuts and trims, bones and meat according to company standards. - Operates electric grinder/saw/knife sharpener/tenderizer/slicer. - Have knowledge of rotation, sanitation, shrink awareness merchandising skills, cutting skills, using the saw and grinder. - Cuts and trims meat to size for display or as orders by the customer. -Wrap and price packages, weigh up any price per lb packages that will be displayed in counter. - Knowledgeable in order writing, and making signs. - Rotates product in meat cooler and ensures proper storage practices. - Keeps total department clean and sanitary. - Assists customers with product questions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: -Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 lbs constantly - Must pass lift Test - Fast paced and requires detailed work and precision - One plus years of experience and or training preferred - Knowledge of and use of Meat Cutting Equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Able to stand for long periods of time. - Individual will be exposed to extreme heat from ovens and fryers, and cold from freezers and coolers. - Able to lift and carry moderately heavy loads. - Bend, Reach, Push and Pull. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme cold and high tech chemicals. - Constantly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
And only lift 45 pounds? Sounds like something I could still do at my age! Beats the heck out of 125 lb fore quarters ,175 lb hindquarters, or 85 lb boxed beef!
Steam ship comes from hind quarter, usually the full round or some derivation of it. Flank was the original London Broil. You find thick cut inside called london broil or even neck meat tenderized and rolled called london broil. The flank is the way to go though.
