Leon our talk only confirmed what I already knew, that yur nuts alright... nuts about the MEAT BUSINESS!! Bless ya brotha!
Leon, I really enjoyed our conversation. It is nice to talk to meat people who have been around and know the business. From our conversation I can tell you have quite a few stories to tell.
Yesterday, I got to talk to long time friend here in the site, CarniceroLarry, Larry has been around this site almost as long as I have lol I think he came in about two to three months after I started it. Larry has keep me out some holes here a few times " THANKS " Larry
This morning I got to talk with the one and only Meatgrady, this meat man plays some good jokes on his co-workers. Meatgrady you keep on and your meat wrapper going to whip you !! LOL Grady, you need to tell the bear one here some time LOL I liked that one
This morning I also got to talk with Kimba, she been around from the begining also, Kimba, kar, Larry, meatgrady, sexycowgirl, neeneebabe, southern_bell, little bit came around the same time, NONE of us old ones can remember which came in what order LOl Kimba was doing a yard sale while talking to me, I hope you made Wal-Mart money dear ( wink )
Speaking of jokes, anyone ever fill their co-workers work boots with water and stick them in the freezer? Not that I would ever do such a thing, just sayin...
TODAY I GOT TALK WITH KevinJRS, a youngblood cutter from Terre Haute, Nice young man, Kevin is having to put his meat cutting career on hold for awhile, he is waiting on a warehouse job making more money, as we all know that is the name of the game, Kevin doesn't know it yet but I think he will be a married man soon LOLOL
Another I talk with today was Davida6302, A old head, not quite as old as me LOl BUT he has been around, He works in the Kansas City area. I think all said and done Davida can problemly tell as many storys as I can lol Davida was one of the first to come to the club when I started it.
Pleasure talking with you to young Mr. kevin. when you get married, you will need to be a part time meat cutter ALSO, That will give her some Wal-Mart $$$$$ LOL
I agree with the cowboy! When I hit a dry spell trying to find a place that would pay an honest wage for a good meat cutter, I freelanced. Worked other jobs but always kept cutting part-time here and there. I look forward to cutting meat. It's impossible to forget. Now I manage a terrific and full-filling dept for a great and unique company. I pretty much have free reign to do as I wish, which is pretty special in today's market. So far, I haven't done too bad and I get to cut most ever day. Keep your eyes open for every opportunity!
Leon, what a pleasure it was to chat. Sorry i didn't have more time to talk, but when my wife has a garden tool in her hands it's like a whip in the meat gods hands. Look forward to more chats here too. Sometimes i listen to what some of the young cutters say and think to myself (do that alot) if i may have been that way? Then i come to realize my brother taught me better than that, he woul say "use your senses and act accordingly" words of wisdom from a seasoned meathead.... Thanks Leon chat later, Dave
Leon, it was good to talk to ya this morning. I was just finishing up some cleaning part of the meat case when I heard Mr. Miller, you have a phone call on line one. Who calls me that? Had a nice talk, sorry it wasn't longer.
YESTERDAY, I got to talk with old head, Gary Clark, one of our " HALL OF FAMERS " He is a Manager for Harp's Foods in Fort Smith Arkansas. He had started his vacation, was going to go Turkey hunting but gave me a few mins of his time, Might be a lucky turkey out there because he was late getting out there LOL One of the things we talked about is the " Pick 5 meat program " He is one that does this program and it has helped him, I myself love this program. An I would say Gary can tell as many storys as I can LOL
An I got to talk with Mr. irish squirrel, another old head from up in Tell City, Ind. He is another " HALL OF FAMER" , He works for Holiday Foods. by the way, I still say, thats a Amercian squirrel on his profile lol I caught irish squirrel at work so we didn't have to much time to talk but when I make my trip up north in a few months he will be one I stop and see.
